Freaks of Nature

Humans. Vampires. Zombies. And aliens??? WHAAAAT! This movie looks hilarious. And did you recognize a lot of those faces? Nicholas Braun, which appears to be playing the main character, first showed up to me in the TV series, 10 Things I Hate About You (not even comparable to the cult classic movie), and I love his quirkiness so I am excited to see him in a leading role with actors such as Dennis Leary, Vanessa HudgensKeegan-Michael Key, Bob Odenkirk(Better Call Saul), Joan Cusack, and Patton Oswalt.
Hoping to watch this movie in the coming week!

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse review

If you follow me on Instagram you would know that I was wanting to see this ASAP. I loved the concept of scouts being in charge of saving us because really those with some wilderness or survival background are more likely not to be dead right away when the zombies come.
I decided for my birthday to go and see this film and man it was worth the money and made for a great date movie with my man. Who doesn't like zombie nudity or strippers? If you get the chance to see this film, both sexes are represented in the nudity area. Of course T&A is more dominant when dealing with high school films.
Things I enjoyed about the film:
  • nudity
  • ridiculous situations they get in
  • the first zombie scene in the film with Blake Anderson from Workaholics
  • the character Carter and any scene with Scout Leader Rogers
  • the old lady neighbour played by Cloris Leachman

Things I didn't really like:
  • the "stripper" girl was a bad actor and I felt her role wasn't really needed
  • why do friends always outcast the "bigger" kid and have him portrayed as a big suck?
  • that I was in a theater where young pre-teen boys were with their grandparents
  • there is a weird Britney Spears singing moment that I wasn't sure what to make of
Overall, I'd see it again!

Monday Mention: Zomboy

Zomboy
by Richard Scrimger

Bob and Evil-O have been friends forever and puberty is not the only thing making their friendship questionable. Imre, a new boy in school, catches the eye of Evil-O. Bob finds Imre weird, gross, cold, and just odd. Well he has a good reason to. After a piano falls on Imre and not a scratch is left on him, the school soon finds out Imre is a survivor from some nuclear something or other and now he is a zombie....or rather zomboy. The school becomes a battle ground for protesters to support Imre or get the undead kid out of there and Imre even runs for class president. But something else is going on that Bob is noticing. Imre is keeping a secret. A secret that could wreck the town if it ever got out.

First off Bob is hilarious. He is kind of a coward, accident prone, and pretty honest as well. Bob as the narrator is what makes the novel. Imre is a little strange beside being a zombie boy and Evil-O is just a chillaxin' girl that believes in everyone. She also has an arch nemesis Susan. Their banter is hilarious! The story is intriguing but I was getting skeptical as to where it was all going and then finally in those last chapters you find out Imre's secret and all the testing and the doctors that Imre has been dealing with. Makes a really exciting ending that I actually didn't see coming. By no means did this book feel really childish like some other junior or elementary books. I kept forgetting these characters weren't in high school.

Random Zombie Art

Being a huge fan of the comics and then later the show, iZombie is recreated here with Gwen (not Liv) chowing down on some brains. Just as Lady-I-Hellsing mentioned in her description, Gwen and Liv are totally different characters but we can appreciate their common love for brains!
MMM brains

Pilot Down by DugStanat is an undead fighter pilot made from ceramic. I'd like to see a movie about zombie pilots made from claymation or something.

Zombie Mustache by Reitanna-Seishin is quirky and creepy looking. Not sure how a mustache becomes a zombie but this works.

These brooches aren't the kinds your Grandmothers wore. These plushies can spice up a bag, look charming on a collar, or just be cute on anything. Thanks to mad-hatter-71 for creating such cool things.

Realistic Zombie Cupcakes for your Halloween Treats

MMMM tasty!!!
These morbidly, delectable cupcakes are a DIY treat from  Instructable user SemadarG. Using fondant for the teeth, gums and flesh, the realism comes to life more with some food coloring and an arrangement of extracts. I think I'd be more successful just slicing off my own face than trying to attempt this. Really looks disturbingly real.

More Deadly Bookends

I've posted before some bookends on the site, and now I have found a few more. Since I made a nice personal library area in my house I have been curious to see what is out there for me to add to my zombie shelf. Here are some favorites.

The Creepy Half Zombie Half Skull Bookends is both eye catching as a sculpture or holding your books from toppling over.

Although no longer available, Bookworm Bookends are the ideal "head in a book" that is quirky if you are looking for less spook.

Classic Walking Dead fan? Keep your pride with in the undead with these grotesque hands crawling up your books and lending a hand (heehee).

Etsy always has the best items and this Zombie Prayer Hands will just set off the nonbelievers of the zombie apocalypse.

PPZ gets serious with a trailer

Finally after 6 years of talking, going through directors and cast, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is coming to theater in 2016.
From the trailer we can see they have gotten a bit too serious about being badass respectable young women with killing zombie skills. The novel was always a little bit comical feeling and it has not translated onto screen that way, atleast just from seeing the trailer. The gore as stepped up and is paired with the darkness of plague and unbathed middle class white folk just like the book. I do look forward to seeing some actors in there like
Lena Headey and Lily James.
