Don't Be Ghoul

The King really does live on! In these Elvis busts by DeviantArt artist luckyhellcat, a hunk, a hunk, of rotting flesh is beautifully created. Besides the bottom last Elvis, I'd be all on this undead.

Zombie Marilyn Monroe

For some reason I LOVE me some Marilyn Monroe even though I haven't watched that many movies of her but the look and her body just scream ultimate woman. Even my whole second bathroom has her plastered all over the place. Take a peek below.
From my Instagram
Now the reason I am saying all this because I also LOVE that there is a whole bunch of Zombie Marilyn art out there. No explanation needed but here are a handful of randoms.

Kind of like Frankenstein

And really I could go on forever. Please feel free tp just Google your way through the web to find some more really cool pics, items, and art.

Thank you, Mario! Your quest is over.

Kody Koala enjoys making weird video game sculptures and figurines. Here we get to see Mario thanked graciously for all his hard work saving Princess Peach by Zombie Peach consuming his brains on top of a dead mushroom and some bones. Probably Luigi. Bishes be cray.

iZombie recap: The Exterminator

The Crime:
There is some Wally Walker case where a guy was killed in the park and someone has been arrested. What appears to be unrelated is some dead guy is killed in a hit and run. Turns out the brain Liv eats is the hitman, Marvin Webster, that killed Walker and now both cases become related. So who killed Webster after he popped Walker? Don Watts, Walkers Angel Investor and who offered the reward, got Webster to kill Walker in order to get a fortune in I'm guessing, insurance or something, then killed Webster since Webster was wanting more money. What a scum bag.

Zowers (Zombie Powers):

  • Hitman numbness
  • no empathy
  • Gun knowledge
  • Unusual facts

Major news: Liv has been feeling bad about about the whole "jumping" majors bones last episode. Major has moved on and on social media a make out sesh with his new GF appears online and Liv sees it. Heartbreaking.
Major comes in with a teen to get help from Liv's connections to the police to find the teen's missing friend. AWE! Major helps troubled teens! Good man.

Meanwhile...:
Kids find a "hobo" which ends up being a zombie. Liv and Ravi check it out. Turns out it's an old co-worker of Liv's, Marcie, and she totally does not make it through the test run Ravi tries on her. With Liv's hitman numbness, she ends up killing Marcie in order to save Ravi when he falls in.
Blaine shows up and Liv is still sketched out by him. Should be. Drug dealing in a way.
Liv and her friend Peyton cross paths over the same case and it makes it a little difficult at one point and it totally screws Peyton's case over. Since Liv ate those brains, she totally doesn't care and this brings out a fight between the ladies.  All forgiven when the catch the right man for the death of Wally Walker.
Scary dude in the skate park that may have a connection to the missing teens turns out to be BLAINE! What is that guy up to?

Nourishment: Wheat crackers with siracha with brains

Brainy lines

  • "A teenager posted a picture on his Facebook claims it's a zombie" - Ravi " Is it me?" - Liv
  • "Are you cool with me naming our trivia team Piggy and the Brain?" - Liv
  • "You didn't say you were marrying Siri." after Liv rambles about some random fact.

Thoughts

  • There are other zombies out there. How many ?!
  • Can they be fixed even though Ravi tried? Will he ever be able to help Liv?
  • LOL trivia Tuesday.
  • Loved Liv's element shirt that read O Mg ! See below.
  • Poor Liv having to deal with her past and her killing Marcie and on top of that Major moving on. Glad to see zombies have emotions.

TWD Season 5 Finale

I hope everyone is well and almost celebratory after last night's The Walking Dead. Please if you have not seen the show, DO NOT READ! SPOILERS! You have been warned.

I was so glad not to see any of our beloved group suffer more loss. I think I'm still getting over Noah.
In 90 minutes of a finale, we see a beat-down with Glenn and Nicholas, Sasha and Gabriel get some inner peace, Daryl and Aaron get trapped and then saved, wolves are out hunting, and I think Deanna has a change in mind about Rick. Everyone happy with the finale? I know I am! Good-bye Porch Dick! (see funny Ballad of Porch Dick here)
Also, I think the episode should have been called "Saved" instead of "Conquer". I'll show you why.

  • Glenn gets lured by that idiot Nicholas, even gets shot and have a huge brawl, yet great Glenn decides to keep Nic alive, saving him from being a dick I guess.
  • After Rick's beat down with Pete, Carol lets Pete know he has a choice to make: live or be an idiot. Seems like he chose to be psycho cuz just as Rick comes in after saving the whole incompetent town from Gabriel's messed up death wish and walkers roaming in the backyards, Rick has to go ahead and save the town from Pete. Pete went irrational, cuts Reg's throat, causing everyone to see what a dick he really is. Deanna gives the go ahead. YAY RICK! Back in charge.

  • Although not everyone was saved from death in this episode (RIP Reg and I guess to Pete), others seemed to be save in other ways. Sasha wants some help and clearly getting some rest with some zombies didn't help. Sasha goes to Gabriel, who doesn't know whether to die or live, seeking to be guided. Father Gab and Sasha rumble and tumble and of course the old pastor's daughter comes and saves the day.

  • Daryl and Aaron are on a mission to get some red poncho guy and get caught in a trap. Who comes along and saves them but.....MORGAN!!!

Guys! Morgan was there from the beginning and we have seen him sneaking around and following something and finally we see him kicking ass and being completely zen about it. He just wants to find Rick you guys! And he does. The finale ends with their weird reunion after Rick has just put Pete down.

What do you think Season 6 is going to be like? OH HUGE question: WHO THE HELL ARE THESE WOLVES DUDES?! Are they cutting the Ws in their flock? I was still confused by that whole thing.

Other questions: Glenn going to be friends with Nic? What kind of catch up are Morgan and Rick going to have? Will Jessie ever sleep with Rick after his quick shooting to her abusive husband? SCarol going to be around still? Carl going to get to first base?! SO many legit answers that we need.  Till next season...

Tees from Threadless

Every 90's child wanted something Lisa Frank. I think I only got to live vicariously through that of my friends who didn't shop locally at the only variety store in town. Plus I cared about the earth and used items from the year before......PFFT no I just had no choice. But here you do! This Lisa Frank inspired "RAINBOW APOCALYPSE" shirt from Threadless is a choice between are you cool or are you not? It has a zombie being a badass motherfucker riding a zombie unicorn dolphin. Your choice.

Want something less neon? Go for simplicity with Zombie Donut *.

Reminds Cinnamon Bun from Adventure Time in this design. Simple.

* I wrote Dobut twice. And then I giggled.

Don't have a Zombie Man: Zombie Simpsons

I play lame little games on my tablet everyday and one that I keep up with is The Simpsons: Tapped Out. I grew up with watching them, quoting Bart, and even through out my life someone can always bring something back to this ever running show.
The Simpsons is one show that does a really great job at Halloween episodes. Treehouse Horror has even showcased an episode with zombies in 1992 named "Dial Z for Zombies". Man I was in kindergarten then! This show is old! So it is no wonder DeviantArt danosborne has created some wicked zombie Simpson art.

I am digging the detailed hairiness of Otto here to the left. Feel Otto just kinda is a zombie with him being all mellow most of the time.

Z Nation

While I was missing my ultra fave and unbeatable zombie show, The Walking Dead, I had a hankering to see some Zs. Behold! Z Nation was the answer. Praise Netflix!
Nothing can compare to TWD with it's 5 seasons of lovable characters, a comic book series which the show is based off of, their own talk show after hours (The Talking Dead), books, and creative cast and crew that makes every episode a nail biting experience. I never have to clip my nails!

Z Nation is about a group trying to transport a fine "gentleman" named Murphy since he may be the only immune survivor after a zombie virus has spread the world in the last 3 years. Operation Bitemark is in place to get to Cali from NY to retrieve the antibodies to create a vaccine with the help of Citizen Z working his tech magic from NSA outpost in the Arctic.
One thing about this crew, they are way more light in the subject of zombies and death and BOY does death come quickly to a lot of the group. Who is in the group you ask? *SPOILERS AHEAD*

top left going clockwise:MICHAEL WELCH as Mack Thompson ;NAT ZANG as 10K; ANASTASIA BARANOVA as Addy Carver; KEITH ALLAN as Murphy; PISAY PAO as Cassandra; TOM EVERETT SCOTT as Sgt. Charles Garnett; KELLITA SMITH as Roberta Warren; and RUSSELL HODGKINSON as Doc
Remember Doing that thing you do? or Dead Man on Campus and even An American Werewolf in Paris? They all have one cutie in common! Tom Everett Scott. While he is one of the best looking of the cast and most recognizable in the group, his character Sgt. Charles Garnett doesn't last long. I was so devastated cuz things between him and the leading lady Roberta was getting STEAMY. Netflix teased me about his character and another guy being in the show for a long while since their faces were dominant in the picture preview. LIES!! This show may as well be called Game of Zs.

Without going into details about ALL the characters, one that is not in the picture above is a little not NEW GUY,  DJ Qualls. I've seen him more recently as a former reoccurring character on Supernatural.  Qualls character, Private First Class Simon Cruller aka Citizen Z, is a lone man safe from the danger of zombies but not from the duties of surveying the zombies and warning folks of anything disastrous like a zunami (a zombie tsunami). Qualls offers many laughs which is what I find great about this show.

Z Nation is fast paced, less in-depth with origin stories, not afraid to kill off characters, might be a little unrealistic with their zombies (which is saying something since z's are pretty sci-fi), and they have their own approach to zombies. They do seem to have the infinite bullet cheat when it comes to combat. Each character brings just enough laughs without making the entire show corny in their drama, horror approach.

The light-heartedness I get from the show is something I appreciate compared to the drama in TWD. Nothing can beat that show though! But if you just can't get enough Z's in your week, binge on some hilariously weird and quirky Z Nation.
Season 2 returns this year.

I slice and you dice

Anybody a chef out there? Me? PB&J are my specialty.
Everybody has pretended to be Wok with Yan at some point. Now we can take those sweet chopping skills both in and out of the kitchen....IN STYLE!

The Zombie Attack Apron (from ThinkGeek) decorates an image of you being the undead. Easier for you to blend in young grasshoppa!
Want to keep those knife skills sharp? *snort* Cut your kale and other hippy-trend of food that won't save you in the afterlife on these babies!
Artist Dave Stencil got a Kickstarter and has created these rich wooden boards around $35 for your enjoyment. Prepare for the apocalypse while preparing supper!

Chia zombie "pets"

Above is the zombie Chia line. Gone are the days of kitten, lamb, and cute elephants. Welcome Creepy Holden, Restless Arm, and Lifeless Lisa. This bundle sells about $30 CAD on Amazon. Does any buddy actually grow these? I have never seen anyone in my life do so. I feel like I'm super lucky just to have my bamboo plant be alive for almost 10 years even with the lack of water I give it...or don't. Maybe these undead guys won't die. Hehe. Get it? Guys their undead...I don't even know what I am saying. Shall I join Lassie out back?

Thanks Geekologie.

Monday Mention: Pat the Zombie: A Cruel (Adult) Spoof

Pat the Zombie: A Cruel (Adult) Spoof

by

A macabre mash-up of the children’s classic Pat the Bunny and the present-day zombie phenomenon, with the tactile features of the original book revoltingly re-imagined for an adult audience. - Goodreads

While the classic presented kids the experience of a touch and feel enhanced reading experience, all I experienced was a face ache from the frowned expression I had reading this. I'm glad I never bought this book. Instead I went to the book store and read it there. It wasn't even worth the listed 5 bucks. While it was a semi good parody and had the interactive elements, the book was flimsy and nothing at all like the board book version it parodies. They should have made it feel like the original board book to be more authentic. That was the whole experience! Sturdy book to drool on. And drooling I might have done if I was stunned with greatness this book could have had. Good effort I guess.

Only the best is dead enough

Where was I during 2010? Ah...a poor college student with no social life. It seems Dead Zebra, Inc. had some wicked 19" Lego dudes that were created by the man from Creatures In My Head site (I was addicted to this site for a few years. So trippy!).
Since then the figures are gone but you can still buy a t-shirt. I know....less impressive. Not as impressive as being able to take tall toys and make them do weird things and SnapChat them to your friends. You don't do that?!!

The Force Woke Something

With the new Star Wars film trailer making an appearance this Friday, I give you a look at what the force is going to look like if we keep bringing these guys back. Undead in this case.
The Force Awakens makes the nerd in me pumped up but not sure how they are going to have characters from other installments. I guess that's why they are going to look a little like our undead guys here. Also, Darth is dead! It won't seem like a true Star Wars film without some Vader Hater antics.
GRLRLRLRLLRLRL *wookie cry*
