Random Zombie Art

Being a huge fan of the comics and then later the show, iZombie is recreated here with Gwen (not Liv) chowing down on some brains. Just as Lady-I-Hellsing mentioned in her description, Gwen and Liv are totally different characters but we can appreciate their common love for brains!
MMM brains

Pilot Down by DugStanat is an undead fighter pilot made from ceramic. I'd like to see a movie about zombie pilots made from claymation or something.

Zombie Mustache by Reitanna-Seishin is quirky and creepy looking. Not sure how a mustache becomes a zombie but this works.

These brooches aren't the kinds your Grandmothers wore. These plushies can spice up a bag, look charming on a collar, or just be cute on anything. Thanks to mad-hatter-71 for creating such cool things.

Realistic Zombie Cupcakes for your Halloween Treats

MMMM tasty!!!
These morbidly, delectable cupcakes are a DIY treat from  Instructable user SemadarG. Using fondant for the teeth, gums and flesh, the realism comes to life more with some food coloring and an arrangement of extracts. I think I'd be more successful just slicing off my own face than trying to attempt this. Really looks disturbingly real.

Don't Be Ghoul

The King really does live on! In these Elvis busts by DeviantArt artist luckyhellcat, a hunk, a hunk, of rotting flesh is beautifully created. Besides the bottom last Elvis, I'd be all on this undead.

Only YOU can prevent diseases

Everyone can use a little washroom etiquette and what a funny thing to twist in some zombie prevention!
This print from Etsy can be for special occasions, Halloween, or all the time!

Now I think I should get this for my washroom. It isn't an obvious zombie thing so that is why it would fit in any where, any time!

Walking Dead painted shoes

OH Etsy! We have had such a great time finding items and then some times these items disappear too quickly.
In this case these great hand painted shoes, originally from Etsy (no longer available), caught my eye.

I miss TWD so much so seeing this beauties and how cleverly cool there are gets me so pumped up for the new season this fall.

Feel free to browse Etsy to find similar finds for something to walk in.

Monday Mention: Zombie Apocalypse Survival Guide

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Guide
by Heather Dakota, Ali Castro (Illustrator)

The coiled bound book is designated into 3 parts: one explaining the zombie virus; second, how to properly identify zombies, and a third on some skills to use in the zombie apocalypse.

Visually intriguing with chicken scratched writing, blood spatter, pictures looking like they are taped in, this book has such an awesome appeal to it which is why I wanted to read it. Even the cool illustrations, minus the weirdly photoshopped zombies, are something to bring life to this book. It is great to see a book about something almost fictional supported by epidemic and pandemic information, actual ways to survive in the wilderness with skills such as purifying water, how to build a proper fire, edible insects and plants, even a cloud pattern guide so you know what kind of weather to watch out for on top of the walking dead.

These are the kind of zombie books I don't mind really showing people who aren't zombie fans since it talks about survival and just common safety measures.

The cover was in one of those holographic morphing changing images that goes from this young man to the scary zombie you see at the top.

Zombie Prayer

So the apocalypse has happened, and maybe your the type that prayers help you gain strength while you slay the walking undead demons, but you can't find the correct reading in Psalms? Try this little night time prayer from Etsy.

This would have been a much better prayer to say before bedtime than the one I used to recite as a little girl....but that was before I discovered Jediism.

Bloody Ceramics

Jessica Harrison adds beautiful work out of found ceramic which leaves you feeling this isn't what Grandma would have on her china shelf.

Although they don't scream zombie they are truly horrifying and showcase what zombies crave and how fragile our world really is.  Each ceramic is found with Harrison just adding a few creepy add-ons. I have four here, and digging the one with the brains exposed, but be sure to see more of Harrison's weirdly beautiful work.

Instagram Zombie Art

I like my instragram a lot. I spam it with my minpin pics, books I am reading, shit I buy, and of course the odd zombie stuff that I go gaga over. What I love mostly is finding artists or accounts that are showcasing zombies.
Excuse all the screen shots....too lazy to crop and want to show credit.

Kathleen Saunders does many Prismacolor pencils on Strathmore paper and great nerd mash-ups. She is my fav to look at. One of her works caught my eye for my blog: The Walking Disney. Love it!

Fredrik Edén, "illustrator from the cold north", does some pretty dope zombie illustrations of all kinds of nerdy.

Video games, Disney, tv shows and movies are a great inspiration to zombify for Edén.

Hit the jump to see more of his gruesome zombie drawings.

Zombie Marilyn Monroe

For some reason I LOVE me some Marilyn Monroe even though I haven't watched that many movies of her but the look and her body just scream ultimate woman. Even my whole second bathroom has her plastered all over the place. Take a peek below.
From my Instagram
Now the reason I am saying all this because I also LOVE that there is a whole bunch of Zombie Marilyn art out there. No explanation needed but here are a handful of randoms.
VanZanto on Deviant Art
Kind of like Frankenstein
Twist on the classic Warhol
Cute cartoon by frillysparklybutts
iPhone 5 - Marilyn Monroe half skull / zombie face on Etsy

And really I could go on forever. Please feel free tp just Google your way through the web to find some more really cool pics, items, and art.

Thank you, Mario! Your quest is over.

Kody Koala enjoys making weird video game sculptures and figurines. Here we get to see Mario thanked graciously for all his hard work saving Princess Peach by Zombie Peach consuming his brains on top of a dead mushroom and some bones. Probably Luigi. Bishes be cray.
See more pictures of his work here.

Don't Turn Out the Lights

OR Rick Grimes appears and not in a steamy dreamy kind of way...
Also I miss The Walking Dead. October is SO far away. How are you all getting by with no zombies? Me? Watching some other zombie shows like iZombie (see my recaps!) and having my zomlit. Never can get enough.

Want this cover? Etsy is your go to!

Dead Yoga

Yoga is a relaxing meditation and it seems all want to feel zen...even when they are dead.
"Zombie Yoga" art print by Rob Osborne brings serenity on a 11"x17" archival fine art paper. Get yours and other nerdy yoga collections on Etsy!

I'm all about random art and this is looking appealing to me :).

Welcome to my World

Besides being a zombie enthusiast or a unicorn tamer, I am a Library Technician for one of the local school divisions in my city. Part of my job that I love being able to do is decorate our library and being involved with activities....and scaring children. JK!

Since I love me some zombies I have pushed the whole zombie awareness month to our students (come to the dark side!!) and so glad at the response and involvement! I want to share with you now some photos of displays, crafts, and my home away from home :)

Today in fact we did a craft with the Grade 3-5s, some younger and older students as well, and the craft was to create zombie rocks. I got the idea here but with some collaboration came up with putting googly eyes on to speed up the process and all the rocks were painted ahead of time. Kids just had to pick a rock, draw on what they wanted it to look like, then glue some eyes and paint on some white.  The one to the left is my example kids had to follow.
I know...I'm a true Picasso.

Some of the wee ones were given the option to draw themselves as zombies from this template. I even provided a sample again. SO proud of how these turned out.

My lovely and most awesomest Teacher Librarian, friend, and co-worker pumped out these zombies shambling their way into our YA section. READ BOOKS! Creates good brains!
I know it is all tiny but if you look close I added some cute zombies to my children's display. Nothing like zombies frolicking in the flowers and butterflies to bring a smile to your face.
Our zombie rocks this afternoon are now displayed in the Zombie Awareness display. SO adorbs! Some kids got a little crazy with the white paint but truly impressed how these look.
Mine is in the middle facing out :)

This is just the display as a whole. To make kids really think about survival rather than brain eating corpses, I promoted the survivalist approach in the display and I'm hoping I didn't cause any nightmares this month, besides my own after seeing some of the kids' art.

I think it is really important to get kids talking about survival in any instant, to promote some crafting, get kids reading, use their imagination and to freakin have some fun in the whole process.

Mission complete.

Party Time!!

Wanna celebrate this month's Zombie Awareness the right way? Throw a little shindig with some of these.

Delicious Dead Zombie Chocolate Mold will be great for creating sweets that will have your guests dying to eat. Mix in a little green food coloring into your white chocolate and VOILA! dead sexy treats! Bonus: can use the moldings to make soap for your guests to clean up after their nasty-ass selves.

For those Bloody Mary's or whatever you may be serving, keep them cool with the handy (teehee) Zombie Ice Mold.

Need something to hold your napkins? Got some messy eaters? I know I need like a bib when I eat.
This Zombie Napkin Holder lends a helping hand while adding the perfect touch of creepy.
