Monday Mention: Zomboy

Zomboy
by Richard Scrimger

Bob and Evil-O have been friends forever and puberty is not the only thing making their friendship questionable. Imre, a new boy in school, catches the eye of Evil-O. Bob finds Imre weird, gross, cold, and just odd. Well he has a good reason to. After a piano falls on Imre and not a scratch is left on him, the school soon finds out Imre is a survivor from some nuclear something or other and now he is a zombie....or rather zomboy. The school becomes a battle ground for protesters to support Imre or get the undead kid out of there and Imre even runs for class president. But something else is going on that Bob is noticing. Imre is keeping a secret. A secret that could wreck the town if it ever got out.

First off Bob is hilarious. He is kind of a coward, accident prone, and pretty honest as well. Bob as the narrator is what makes the novel. Imre is a little strange beside being a zombie boy and Evil-O is just a chillaxin' girl that believes in everyone. She also has an arch nemesis Susan. Their banter is hilarious! The story is intriguing but I was getting skeptical as to where it was all going and then finally in those last chapters you find out Imre's secret and all the testing and the doctors that Imre has been dealing with. Makes a really exciting ending that I actually didn't see coming. By no means did this book feel really childish like some other junior or elementary books. I kept forgetting these characters weren't in high school.

Be mine forever!

In another world where my fiancĂ© was into zombies like me and family wouldn't scorn us, I'd have these as my wedding bands.....maybe.

These are Zombie Apocalypse Buddy Rings that can be personalized from Etsy.
Maybe I'll get these anyways and see who would be my buddy. Will you be my buddy? My pal? Friend? Guy? Anything??????

Here let me scratch that

"Currently unavailable" from Amazon comes this sweet Zombie Back Scratcher.  Ideal for groping or picking boogers with cuz I am that matureWho needs a friend or family member or ever those little metal scratchers when you have a creepy hand to do it for you.

I also think this would scare people if I forgot it laying out. "OH sorry Grandma! Here let me get your heart started again with some CPR."

Zombie Games Part 2

Round 2 of reviewing games from the Google Play! I'm sure most of these are available for Apple but I only have Android so you'll have to look yourself.

Zombie Run is the equivalent of Temple Run, a game where you use your thumbs to swipe to turn, jump, or duck and collect vials and brain pieces. Although the premise of this game is super simple, it is also addictive. There are daily and weekly goals and you can upgrade to be different types of zombies running away from weird hunters with pitchforks.

Zombie Escape...exactly the same deal as Zombie Run but this time you are running away from a zombie and there are more playing maps. There are zombies some times that show up on your running course that you can either avoid or hit with a knife. I like to stab them cuz I'm gory and morbid like that. You also get to ride on a witch's broom when you hit a speed up button. Weird.....

Zombies Ate My Friends has to be my favourite game so far and is why I haven't gone much further in exploring zombie games. Festerville is populated with zombies and it is up to you to help others, kill zombies, gather supplies, and work your way up to getting better weapons and gears.
This game is written comically with characters peeing their pants, a flasher, and an a-hole stealing everyone's gear.
