Zom-B

Zom-B (Zom-B #1)

B is a young teen in England. B's dad is a racist arsehole who beats up B and B's mom. B tends to act like a racist in hopes of not getting pounded but where does the act end and the real racism begin? And what is going on with these zombies everyone is seeing on YouTube? Real or not real? B will soon find out.

*Some spoilers* uuuuuggh....this book. Until 3/4 of the way through only 3 times were there mentions of zombies but it did explode with that at the end. I was really disgusted with the racist main character who gets beat up by the racist dad. B half jokes/acts because of the dad but it was still bothersome. Also, B turns out to be BECKY on page 196. WTF? They hid that on purpose. I went back to see any signs and there were only like 3 but it was WAY too hard to tell. B has buzzed hair and wears black shirt and jeans and hangs out with more guys. Plus the personality and vocabulary seemed dominantly male.
So I was confused about this Brian kid in the first chapter and the Owly Man that freakishly appears out of nowhere. Was Becky Brian before?? And what are with the mutant zombie things controlling the mindless ones? Yes there are zombies controlling other zombies! I was curious to read the second novel (stay tuned for that review) from all that and for the fact B gets her heart ripped out at the end by the Tyler kid she sacrificed due to the color of his skin. I hoped the racism was done with or made more sense as to why the author included such distasteful language. Let me give you a hint: it doesn't make sense why.
