Zom-B City

Zom-B City (Zom-B #3)

After escaping a secret military complex amid the zombie apocalypse, B roams the streets of a very changed London, dirty and dangerous and eerily quiet, except for the shuffling of the undead. Once again, B must find a way to survive against brain-eating zombies --and now also against those who have seized control of the city. With danger lurking around every corner and no one to trust, B must decide whether to join the creepy Mr. Dowling in exchange for his protection. When everyone around you is dead, where do you turn for help?

The series is getting better. :) So B ends up escaping the underground facility but is now on her own out in the city. She spends her nights holed up away from other zombies to avoid any confrontations or confusion with being alive and spends her days all covered up, walking the hot deserted streets trying to find a safe place or humans. She doesn't want to eat the humans, but rather be rescued so that maybe her "blood" can be used to reverse the zombie disease. It's a try. Along the way she meets an artist, and later, some old "friends".  These happen to be the Owly Man and the messed up clown man, Mr. Dowling. Why the clown wants B to join them is a mystery and a reason to continue onto book #4.
And according to Goodreads, it looks like Shan is making 7 books. Four and five are out.
